ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE
The way we react to life and its pressures often results in harmful habits of movement, breathing and general functioning. We tend to use excessive muscle-tension in almost everything we do leading to bad backs, distorted necks, aches, pains and fatigue. Lessons are one-to-one using gentle hands-on guidance and explanations to take the pupil through simple everyday movements. Through observation and increased awareness, interference with natural good use is reduced, allowing freedom of movement and easier breathing to return.
Conditions helped include back pain, neck and shoulder tension, breathing and vocal problems, anxiety and stress.
Cost: £25 per lesson

ANIMAL NATURAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING
(facilitating the natural behaviour of self-selection or Zoopharmacognosy)
In the wild animals naturally seek out plants, clays, algae etc. for their health and wellbeing.
Domestic animals retain this ability and readily select the constituents they need from essential oils, herbs, clays, algae etc. when offered.
This natural behaviour is stress free, safe, and enriches your animal’s life experience. It often results in a deeper bond between you and your animal as you share a common understanding.
Conditions addressed: Animals will self-select for physical, psychological, and behavioural issues, as well as to support their general wellbeing.

CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY
Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure, to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head. Cranial Osteopaths are trained to feel a very subtle rhythmical shape change that is present in all body tissues. This is called involuntary motion. The skull is made up of 26 bones which are intricately joined in such a way that the skull can change shape, very slightly, to accommodate the rhythmic involuntary motion of the brain inside. Impacts to the head or body may disrupt this movement, even when they occurred many years ago. Most of us carry the effects of some past traumas, physical or emotional, and the aim of treatment is to encourage your body to resolve them in its own way, rather than by imposing a force from outside.

HYPNOTHERAPY
The actual experience of being hypnotised is difficult to describe, neither asleep nor awake. All hypnotic states are characterised by a tremendously pleasant state of relaxation into which individuals allow themselves to enter so that desired, beneficial suggestions may be given directly to the unconscious mind. Thus, hypnosis is a natural, effective way of making contact with the inner (unconscious) self, a source of many of our problems as well as a tremendous reservoir of unrecognised potential strength and knowledge. Nobody can ever be hypnotised against their will and, even when hypnotised, people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they wish.
Conditions treated. Hypnotherapy has proved to be a suitable treatment for many conditions, both psychological and physical. Some are listed here. Habit breaking – smoking, nail biting, stuttering, nocturnal enuresis. Weight control, phobias, aversions, insomnia, anxiety – panic attacks, exam nerves, sports motivation – performance, irritable bowel syndrome, dermatological conditions, self esteem and motivation, obsessive compulsive disorders, migraine – headache.

Chiropractic treatment mainly involves safe, often gentle, specific adjustments, done by hand, to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Most often, this requires a short thrust to a joint that can result in an audible ‘crack’, and may bring relief of symptoms as well as an increased feeling of well-being. The ‘crack’ is simply the sound of bubbles of gas popping in the fluid of the joint as the pressure is released.
Apart from the adjustment your chiropractor may use a wide variety of techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound and exercises.
Conditions treated include back pain, tension headache, migraine, neck pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, tendonitis, carpal tunnel, arthritis, repetitive strain injury, whiplash, sports injuries.
